If I do hold an event can I put up canopies and tents? Can I use stakes?: If approved, Fishers may allow canopies and tents; however stakes are not allowed due to the multiple underground utilities. However, water barrels, bricks, and other forms of weight are permitted for use.

1. Can I put up signage or banners for my special event?: All such items must have prior approval and should be a part of your Special Event Permit request.

2. Can I have a food truck at my event?: You may have a food truck at your event. The food truck must obtain a food truck permit with the City of Fishers Community Development Department. The only time a food truck would not require a permit is in the event of the food truck being use for catering purposes. For example, a business is having an employee appreciation day and is paying for all of the food for its employees where individual transactions do not take place between an employee and the food truck, no permit would be required.

3. When applying for a special event application, when do I need to get a State of Indiana Amusement and Entertainment Permit?: This permit is issued through the State of Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
